동감과 이질 展에 대하여
모든 예술이 그러듯이 환경, 시대, 교육, 종교 그리고 개인적인 취향이나 성격에 따라 표현이나 주창하는 것이 너무 다르다.
공통점이라곤 아주 어릴적 부터 그림을 그리며 서로를 진정한 친구로 좋아하는 두 작가가 그림 전시회를 한다.
두 친구는 친구로서는 물론, 그 누구 보다도 그림에 대한 열정과 사랑엔 동감이다.
한 친구 김동석 작가는 한국에서 식을 줄 모르는 열정으로 매년 개인전과 수많은 그룹전을 통해 중견 작가로서 자기만의 색채를 찾아가는 작가이다.
또 한 친구 이대형 작가는 미국 서부 캘리포니아에 거주하며, 이번 작품전이 30년만의 한국전시이다.

김동석 작가는 씨앗작가로 알려져 있으며 작품 소재의 상징성을 통해 관객과 소통하고 있다. 근래는 기호나 한글을 통해 새로운 시도를 하며 그 열정이 식지 않고 있다. 상징성을 극대화 하기 위해 작가는 작품 소재와 재료 준비는 물론 철저한 계획에 의해 작품을 한다. 물론 작품과정 속에서의 우연성은 존재하지만 그 절대적인상징성은 작품의 난해성을 해소해 주며 관람자에게 편안함을 선사한다.
이대형 작가는 서부 자연 환경에서 느껴지는 이미지를 추상적인 이미지로 바꿔서 작품을 한다. 작업 과정에서 작가는 자신의 감정을 이입하는 것을 더 중요시 한다.
풍경화라 하지만 풍경이 없고, 누드화라 하지만 누드를 찾기 힘들다. 외형적 모양보다 심상의 표현을 하려고 한다. 붓질 과정에서의 어설픈 물감의 섞임도 작업의 과정이 아닌 결과물로 인정하는 추상 작품을 한다.
미술에 대한 인식과 표현이 너무 다른 두 작가가 한 자리에서 그림전을 함으로써 관람자가 보다 풍성하고 다양한 시각적 감동이 전해지길 희망하며, 무엇보다 두 작가가 20여년전 서로에게 약속했던 2인전을 통해 감사와 작품에 대한 새로운 시금석의 장이 되기를 기대한다.

Homogeneity and Heterogeneity
As with all art, expressions and advocacy are different things depending upon the environment, time, education, religion, and personal taste or personality.
They have come together to hold a painting exhibition as two artists that have been drawing since their youth and have been fans of each other’s works.
As friends, the two share the passion and love for painting more than anything else.
One friend, Kim Dong-seok, is a lesser-known writer in Korea. As an older artist, however, he has matured his own color through solo exhibitions and numerous group exhibitions every year.
Another friend, Lee Dae-hyung, lives in the United Staes, Southern California, and is holding an exhibition for the first in Korea in over 30 years.

Kim Dong-seok is known as a seed writer and communicates with the perspective through the symbolism of the material of his work. Recently, he has made new attempts through symbols or Hangul, and his passion has not cooled down. In order to truly convey the symbolism, the artist works according to a thorough plan for the material and material preparation of the work. Contingency exists in the literary process, but its absolute symbolism solves the esotericism of the work and gives viewers comfort.
Artist Lee Dae-hyung works by converting the natural environments of Western America into abstract images. During the process, the writer stresses empathizing the feelings and emotions that the sceneries convey.Some describe it as a landscape painting, but finding the landscape itself is a puzzle. Others describe it to be a nude painting, yet nudity may not be found. He tries to express his mind rather than the euphemistic shapes. The clumsy mixing of paint in the brush process is also an abstract work that is recognized as a result, not a process of work.
It is hoped that the two artists, who have such different perceptions and expressions of art, will hold a painting exhibition in one place to convey a more rich and diverse visual impression to the audience. Above all, the hope is that the two artists can confide in and support each other for the struggles and perseverance needed to fulfill this 20-year-old promise in showcasing a two-person exhibition.
