몸은 식색(食色)으로 대표되는, 육욕을 발산하는 살의 덩어리이기도 하지만 동시에 그것이 승화되어진 양태로서의 정신을 담아내는 고양된 그릇이기도 하다. 몸이란 바로 인간 그 자체이자 인간의 모든 것들 가운데 가장 직접적이고 즉발적인 것이며, 이 몸을 표상하는 회화는 들끓는 충동으로부터 침잠된 적멸까지의 전체 스펙트럼을 하등의 결락 없이 고스란히 시현해낼 수 있는 유용한 매체이기도 하다. 물질과 정신이 조우하고 교차하는 인터페이스로서의 상태인 몸, 정신이나 물질 그 어느 쪽도 정확히는 아닌 모호한 그 '몸'은 끝없이 이 둘 사이를 왕래하며 진동하는 단진자의 운동처럼, 무한 반복의 양상으로서만 그 자신의 존재를 규정한다.
때로는 교합인양, 때로는 배태인양, 때로는 응시인양, 때로는 절규인양, 화면을 흐르는 선들의 궤적과 그 얽힘이란 마치 충동의 터뜨림과 합일에의 의지가 교차하면서 고통과 열락을 동시에 은유하는 양의(兩義)의 신음과도 같은 생명의 율동 그 자체에 다름 아니다.
몸의 움직임은 춤이다. 동예의 제천의식인 '무천(舞天)'은 하늘을 향한 인간의 몸짓이다. 우리는 선의 율동인 그 춤을 통해 하늘과 하나 되는 엑스타시를 체감한다. 짐짓 이 황홀을 예감케 하는 그의 전시 <몸>을 기대한다.

The body is not only a mass of flesh that radiates lust, but it is also an elevated vessel that contains the spirit as a sublimated form. The body is the human being itself and the most direct and immediate among all human beings, and the painting representing this body is also a useful medium through which the entire spectrum from the seething impulse to the submerged annihilation can be expressed without any omission.
The human body is a complex that cannot be accurately described as either mental or material. In this ambiguous state, the 'body' oscillates between the two endlessly, and exists in the form of infinite repetition, like a simple pendulum.
On his works, various forms of lines harmonize, separate, and sometimes intertwine. These shapes can also be understood as the intersection of the eruption of conflict that occurs within the artist, and the desire to pursue the beauty of satisfaction and peace. This trial and error is like the rhythm of human life, like the moan that metaphorizes pain and pleasure at the same time.
The movement of the body is dance. 'Mucheon(舞天)', a ritual of sacrificing heaven, is a human gesture toward the sky. We experience the ecstasy of becoming one with the sky through the dance, which is the rhythm of lines. I look forward to his exhibition <Body-2021>, which gives a premonition of this ecstasy.
