꼬맹이_꽃길만걷자
“희망과 웃음이 있는 전시로 다가가겠다”
일상에서 느끼는 기억과 감정은 내 그림의 중요한 요소이다. 이는 진정성 있는 소재로 주관적인 그림을 그릴 수 있게 도움을 준다. 일상 속 감정을 함축적인 시각 기호로 자유롭고 유아기적인 형태로 표현하게 되었다. 내 아이가 그렸을만한 여자 아이의 형태는 동네 꼬맹이들의 그림 속 주인공들과 흡사 닮아있다.
나는 자주 낙서를 하게 된다. 이러한 일상 속 낙서를 통해서 기억과 감정을 이미지화 시키고 그 일상의 순간과 사유적인 깨달음을 기록하는 형태이다.
이런 나의 작업은 무의식적으로 새로움을 찾게 된다. 이미지의 연결성과 주제의 통일성이 기호적인 이미지를 시각화 하고 함축적인 이야기로 전달하게 한다.
이번 전시는 꼬맹이와 꽃의 이미지를 통해서 ‘대중과의 열린 소통’을 모색하였다.
이는 관객과의 대화와 소통을 의미하며, 예술이 무겁고 고귀하다는 가치를 넘어 마음이 즐겁고 행복한 미소를 머금길 바래본다. 그래서 관객이 담담하게 익숙해지는 소통의 그림으로 일상의 소리를 듣고 일상의 색깔을 보며 일상을 느끼는 것에 포인트를 두었다.
순간적으로 스치는 생각이나 공상, 관찰하는 것, 그날 일어난 일에 대한 반성 등 즉각적으로 기록한 일기 형식으로 나의 그림에는 일상의 다양한 모습을 볼 수 있다.
꼬맹이 캐릭터로 일상에 지친 현대인의 모습을 상징적으로 재구성하면서 누구나 공감하고 위로받을 수 있는 이야기로 기획하게 되었다.
현재의 지치고 우울한 감정을 긍정적인 에너지로 바꾸고자 애써 웃음을 머금고 캐릭터를 통해서 행복해지고 미소를 머금을 수 있는 긍정적 에너지로 다가갔다. 대부분의 꼬맹이는 즉흥적으로 그려졌으며 우연히 형태를 발전시킨 결과물이다. 또한 정신적 피로를 풀기위한 수단과 미소를 통해 休 를 찾고 느슨하게 하는 행위이다.
일상은 모든 사람들에게 당연한 것이나, 그 이면의 다른 의미를 느끼는 사람에게는 보다 소중하고 가치 있는 무언가를 경험하게 한다. 이러한 자신의 관심과 고민, 자아정체성을 비롯한 자기표현을 드러내는 행위가 꼬맹이라는 케릭터로 표출되었고, 잠재되어 있고 억눌린 욕구를 표출하며 스트레스를 해소하거나 나아가 행복한 삶을 추구하는 길로 심리적 안정감을 갖게 할 수 도 있다. 결과론적으로 긍정적인 의미로 희망적인 느낌을 전달하려 노력하였다.

Kid_Let's Walk on Flower Way Only.
“You are invited to the exhibition filled with hopes and laughs.”
The memories and emotions felt in daily life are the important elements of my paintings. As sincere materials, they are helpful for drawing subjective paintings. The emotions in daily life have been expressed in the free and infantile form based on the implicative visual signs. The shape of a girl looking like drawn by my child is similar to the main characters in drawings by kids.
I often scribble. Through this scribble in daily life, I express the memories and emotions into images, and also record the daily moments and enlightenments.
My work process unconsciously seeks for the newness. The connectivity of images and the unity of themes visualize the symbolic images, and deliver them as implicative stories.
This exhibition sought for the 'open communication with the public' through the images of kid and flower.
It means the dialogue and communication with viewers, and I hope that they can have joyful and happy smiles, on top of realizing the heavy and noble value of art. Thus, I focused on the point that viewers hear the daily sounds, see the daily colors, and feel the daily life through the paintings of communication, familiar with viewers.
As a diary form, immediately recording momentary thinking or daydream, observation, and introspection, my paintings show the diverse looks of daily life.
Symbolically recomposing the looks of modern people exhausted by daily life with a character of kid, a story providing the empathy and comfort has been planned.
In order to change the current exhausted and depressed emotions into positive energy, the character provides the positive energy that gives happy smiles. Most of the kids were drawn impromptu, which is the outcome of developing the form accidently. Also, it is an action to seek for the relaxation through smiles and means of relieving the psychological fatigues.
Daily life is such a natural thing to everybody. However, people who feel another meaning of its hidden side experience something more precious and valuable. This act of revealing the self-expression including my own interest, concerns, and identity has been expressed as a character of kid, which could be led to the psychological stability through the relief of stresses or the pursuit of happy life, by expressing the latent and suppressed desires. Looking at the results, I tried to deliver the hopeful image through positive meanings.
