삶, 관계 그리고 시
김지은의 작업은 삶에서 만나게 되는 여러 관계와 감정들을 표현한다. 작가의 작품 속에 스며들어 있는 위대한 시인 파블로 네루다와 호세 이에로의 시 구절들은 작가에게 인생의 여러 감정들이 녹아들어 있는 순환하는 삶을 의미한다. 찬란한 햇살 혹은 비바람을 맞으며 제자리에 서 있는 나무들, 그리고 모든 기억들을 조용히 품고 있는 나이테와 같이 작품 위에 콜라쥬된 여러 가지의 패브릭 조각들은 작가의 삶과 관계에 있어서의 다양한 경험과 기억들을 표현한다. 그 위에 수놓아진 길고 짧은 바늘땀들은 때로는 빠르게, 때로는 느리게, 혹은 멈추어 서기도 하는 삶의 발자국들과 같다.
Life, Relationship, and Poetry
My work shows complex human relationships and mixed feelings.
The poems of the great poets like Pablo Neruda and Jose Hierro personally mean to me the life in which many aspects of feelings are dissolved.
Like a tree that enjoys radiant sunshine but also endures all the rainstorms and a growth ring that stores all memory, my variety of life experiences and memory are expressed on a canvas with torn bits of many different colored fabric.
The long and short embroidered stitches represent the footprints I have left throughout my life.
"Some people come into my life and quickly go...
Some stay for a while and leave footprints...
And I am never, ever the same."

김지은은 서울 출신으로 홍익대학교 미술대학 동양화과와 홍익대학교 대학원 동양화과를 졸업하였다. 작가는 4회의 개인전 및 여러 단체전, 국제전, 국제아트페어 등의 활발한 전시 참여를 하고 있으며, 다수의 전시기획활동 및 현재 부산과학기술대학교 패션연출디자인과(Busan Institute of Science and Technology, Dept. of Fashion Production Design)의 부교수로 재직 중이다.
