첫 개인전을 열며.......
바람이 제법 차갑게 느껴지는 오후, 창가에 놓여 진 작은 화분에서 짙은 허브향이 코끝을 자극한다. 진한 외로움과 자신을 돌아보는 침묵의 시간들이 흐른다. 차 한잔을 시작으로 캔버스를 마주하며 좀 더 인간적인 내면을 더듬거려 본다. 전시를 앞두고 있는 요즘 나 자신을 드러내 보이는 게 솔직히 두렵다.
이젠 스스로 가둔 삶속에서 벗어나고 싶다. 내가 지치고 힘들 때 유일하게 나를 위로해 주는 우리집 고양이 ‘사야’, 예술에 있어서 궁국의 목표는 곧 아름답고 진실 되어야 하며 복잡한 세상 속에서 단순함을 찾아야 한다고 생각한다.
내 작품에 있어 지향하고자 하는 것은 흰색이다. 흰색은 궁극을 표방하는 최후의 것이라기보다 최초라는 것에 공감한다. 백합과 흰 비둘기는 그렇게 순수한 영혼으로 내게 다가온다. 그러나 거기엔 기만적이고 가식적인 이면이 존재하며 또한 그래서 내면은 언제나 선 과 악을 저울질 하는지도 모른다. 그리고 작품속의 꽃들은 야누스의 얼굴이다. 알렉산드르 뒤마의 ‘춘희’에서 매춘부로 분한 “사라베르나르”, 호세의 정열로 죽임을 당한‘카르멘’이자 보들레르의 악의꽃 뱀파이어 이다.
나는 꿈을 꾼다. 사고의 참된 움직임을 표현하는 것 이상으로 어떠한 감독도 받지 않고 심미적 윤리적 관심을 완전히 떠나 행해지는 사고 기술이 작품 속 초현실로 표현되기를 나는 희망 한다.
어느 날 길을 걷다 어렵고 힘든 사람의 모습에서 아픔이 전해져온다. 부끄러운 자신을 보는 순간이다. 인간의 마음은 행복을 찾아 늘 과거나 미래로 달려간다. 그러나 행복은 미래의 목표가 아니라 현재의 선택이라고 했던 가! 오늘 내가 느끼는 행복이 곧 타인의 행복임을 알기에 나는 그렇게 인생을 배워가고 있는 지도 모른다.
소중하고 고마운 나의 가족들, 지인들 그리고 작가님들에게도 감사 와 사랑을 그리고 늘 행복이 충만하길 바라며...

On opening my first private exhibition.....

One day in the pretty chilly afternoon, the scent of herb excites my nose from the little flowerpot beside the window. Time goes by with the deep loneness and the silence reflecting myself. Facing the canvas with a cup of tea, I try to see gropingly my humane inner side. Before my exhibition, frankly I'm afraid of revealing myself in these days.
Now I want to get out of the life to immure myself. I have a cat named "Sayia" who comforts only me when I feel tired and difficult. I think the ultimate goal in art is to be beautiful and truthful, thus we should find its simplicity from the complicated world.
In my artwork, white color is what I aim for. I identify white as the first one rather than the last to claim to be ultimate. The white lily and the dove come to me as the pure soul in that way. But there is always a deceptive and pretentious side, thus it might always compare good and evil. And flowers in my artworks are the face of Janus. They are "Sarah Bernhardt" who played the role of "Marguerite Gautier" in "The Lady of the Camelias" of Alexandre Dumas, "Carmen" who killed by passion of Don José, and a vampire of Charles Pierre Baudelaire's "The Flowers of Evil."
I dream and hope that the description of enacting thoughts is expressed in a surreal way in my artworks. The description is to show the truthful motion of thoughts, so it goes freely without any supervision and it is free from the point of an esthetic and ethical view.
One day on my taking a walk along the street, the pain was delivered from people who were poor and difficult. It was the moment of seeing my inglorious self. A human's heart always runs to the past or the future to find out happiness. But it is said that happiness is not the future goal but the present selection! I might learn life in that way because it is also the happiness of others that makes me feel happy today.
Wish there is always thanks, love and happiness to my precious family, friends and artists.......
