Happy Time Travel of Happy Artist
Lee Chung-Ja’s paintings have no shade, including sorrow and loneliness. They are full of hope, happiness, dream, love, festival…. Even the name of her works makes our heart beat, without disappointing our expectation. Colorful flowers, butterflies, birds, and brightly smiling people are naturally expressed on the painting as if they are flying on the canvas regardless of perspective. If there is a staying space time, it will be in childhood fairy tales only. They seem to exist beyond time and space. The beautiful man and woman, who seem to live happily and long, share emotional communion with flowers, horses and music as if they are in the paradise.
Have there been only joy and pleasure in her long life journey? Nevertheless, the story of dream, hope, happiness, and love that she has pursued consistently shows that difficulties she encounters in life have been sublimated as the art of affirmation. Childlike innocence, it would be her own way of life and the happiness that she has wanted to seek in the difficult work process. Childhood memories and dreams, the source of Lee Chung-Ja’s paintings, are the substance of her life and remind her of another future memory. I want to accompany with the life of the happy artist.
