홍콩 컨템포러리 버짓 아트 페어 2013

홍콩 컨템포러리는 2012년 데뷔하여 홍콩에서 전세계에 이르는 미술품 컬렉터들을 한자리에 모으는데 성공하였습니다. 지난 5월에는 2회를 성황리에 개최하면서 홍콩의 프리미어 아트 페어로 굳건히 위치하였습니다. 미술계의 현실을 고려하여 합리적인 금액으로 수준 높은 아트페어를 마련하는 것을 목적하고 있으며, 이 뜻을 본격적으로 실현하기 위해 올해 9월 <버짓 아트페어 2013>을 새로이 개최합니다.

미술 산업에 대한 최근 연구에 따르면, 갤러리의 주요 수입원은 갤러리에서의 작품판매 보다는 아트페어에서의 판매에서 온다고 합니다. 그러나 주요 아트페어는 참가비 자체가 고가여서 판매가 일어난다 할지라도 수익성이 떨어집니다. 이러한 문제로 부대비용을 줄일 수 있는 호텔 아트페어가 아시아에서 매우 선호되고 있습니다.

진정한 저가 아트 페어

<버짓 아트페어 2013>는 참가자와 미술품 구매자 모두가 접근이 쉬운 아트페어를 추구합니다. 전시자의 참가비는 미화 1,670달러(한화 약 180만원)으로 책정하여 참가자의 부담을 줄여 드리고자 합니다. 이는 해외 갤러리들이 외부 아트페어에서 갤러리 브랜드를 프로모션할 수 있는 좋은 기회가 될 것입니다. 작품가는 미화 3,800달러(한화 약 420만원) 이하로 통제하여 미술품 구매자의 저변을 확대하고자 합니다. 중요한 것은, 참가비와 작품가를 낮추되 아트페어의 홍보와 수준 면에서는 홍콩 컨템포러리만의 프라이드를 지킨다는 점입니다.

Hong Kong Contemporary Budget Art Fair 2013

In 2012, Hong Kong Contemporary has launched its debut event in Hong Kong, drawing collectors from all over the world to Hong Kong, which was an extraordinary success. Hong Kong Contemporary is positioning itself to be a premier art fair in Hong Kong. We aim to create an art fair that is of high quality at reasonable cost. To realize this goal, we are launching the Budget art fair this year.

Recent research on the art industry shows that the galleries’ primary source of income comes from sales at art fairs rather then sales at the galleries themselves. This research confirms the importance of art fairs in the art industry. However, participation in major art fairs is very expensive to the point that it is not profitable for galleries to participate. Therefore, various hotel fairs have become increasingly popular in Asia.

A True Budget Art Fair for Everyone

In Budget art fair, our objective is to hold an art fair that is affordable by both exhibitors and art buyers. The cost for exhibitors can be as low as US$1,670.00. It will be a great opportunity for overseas galleries to promote their brands in this outreach art fair. While for buyers, the cost of artworks sold will be in the range less than US$3,800.00. This is an art fair you definitely cannot miss.

Venue and Date

Gloucester Luk Kwok Hong Kong situated in the heart of Wanchai’s business district on Hong Kong Island, the hotel places you close to many iconic Hong Kong sites including the Convention and Exhibition Centre and the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts. The Wanchai Mass Transit Railway (MTR) Station is only a 5 minute walk from the hotel and will provide you fast and easy access to all other parts of Hong Kong, such as Causeway Bay and Admiralty.

At the same time of HKC Budget 2013, Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair will be hosted in Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The world's largest timepiece event, with more than 17,500 buyers participating, up 4.5 per cent over last year. Emerging market buyers were up significantly, including Iran (up 32 per cent), the Chinese mainland (up 17 per cent) and Russia (up 17 per cent).
