Artist Statement

Everyday I am looking at the trees, flowers, and sky and feel the wind. Those are the small things, but those small natural elements give me fresh and vivid idea. My imagery of jewelry comes from these natural shapes, which are leaves and flowers. In the middle of forest, there are fallen leaves, swing on the ground, and small flowers between the rocks. 

They are making beautiful harmony in the nature.  

In my work, I simplified the natural shapes by using oval and round layers. Grouping oval and round shapes gives the imagery of leaves on the ground, which moves by wind.

일상에서 느끼는 자연의 아름다움과 작은 구성 요소들은 우리가 무심히 지나치기 쉬운 존재이나 매우 소중한 존재이다. 자연스런 일상과 반복되는 계절의 변화는 반복되는 것 같으나 항상 새로운 모습, 다른 느낌을 선사한다. 

존재하는 순간은 찰나에 지나가고 그 순간은 우리의 기억에 어떤 모습을 남길까? 같은 계절과 같은 장소에서 우리가 느끼는 감정은 같을까? 

나뭇잎, 바람소리, 계절에 따라 변화하는 자연의 색들은 작업의 출발점이다. 시간의 흐름에 따라 변화하는 자연의 구성 요소를 기하학적인 단순한 형태, 즉 타원형과 원형 그리고 다양한 색깔로 표현하며 그 속에 작가가 느끼는 아름다움을 표현하고자 노력했다.
